We start with people, not portfolios.
Certainly the numbers are important, but the key to your financial story is you – what matters to you most and concerns that disrupt your vision of a life well-lived.
Why Narrate Wealth Partners?
Choosing a financial advisor requires thoughtful consideration. After all, few things are more personal than sharing and shaping your life story. In addition to astute guidance and clear communication, successful advisory relationships are founded in trust. We want our clients to feel our commitment to earning their trust from the start. Here are some ways we achieve this:
Fiduciary Standard
Our Certified Financial Planner professional™ (CFP® professional) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designations mandate adherence to a fiduciary standard putting client interests first.
Know-How
Over 25 years empowering clients with organized finances calibrated to their intentions, commitments and values.
Unhindered Thinking
We’re an independent firm without ties to financial institutions that sell proprietary products. No one mandates Narrate Wealth Partners sell you anything.
On the Same Page
Our advisors have personal experience with the challenges before you. We’re raising kids, shepherding parents through end of life, managing expenses and planning our own secure future.
Great Listeners
Tell us your story – where you’ve been, where you hope to go, and what might get in your way. We’re expert listeners and love our clients’ narratives.
Inspired by Diversity
Our firm and our clients have roots in diverse communities with unique needs. We take pride in supporting those communities by donating a portion of our profits to organizations that we and our clients hold dear.
How we help.
Most clients arrive focused on investments. Financial well-being is built from more than stocks and bonds. We help you coordinate all the economic pieces of your life so that your financial world has clarity…that wonderful state that enables confidence when making decisions. Topics we explore:
Everyone has unique experiences with money that influence their financial decisions. Understanding your history ensures an effective and comfortable path forward.
Do you know what comes in, where it goes and what you owe? If you dread this discovery, we have tricks to make it simple.
How your portfolio is allocated and the types of accounts you own.
You want to safeguard the security of what’s important, whether it’s the people you love or your hope for the future. Solutions may include insurance, proper cash reserves, a manageable savings plan and appropriate investments.
Trusts, wills, healthcare directives…are you prepared? We point you to the tools and professionals that ensure your life wishes are honored and your assets are properly distributed after your death.
You can’t avoid taxes, but you can minimize them by utilizing account types and tax-efficient investments.
Don’t leave opportunities on the table. We analyze what’s available and direct you to what’s valuable.
Whether we review your existing plan or develop one for you, we plan for your best story to unfold.
Housekeeping can increase your chance of financial success. Projects such as expense-tracking, tax-wise gifting, or consolidating accounts can fine-tune and simplify your financial life. If you need help with your project list, we step in with ideas and a hand.
Meet your team.

You could say I’ve been doing this all my life. I remember dropping tooth fairy money into a blue plastic pig whose hat popped up whenever a coin was deposited. I still recall the click of that hat.
Additional wealth came from real estate and the stock market. It caught the attention of colleagues. After years of deflecting their inquiries about my secret to financial success, I decided it would be meaningful to answer their questions professionally. I returned to U.C. Berkeley and formally studied investments and financial planning.
I still craft stories on behalf of clients. Now the content comes from their financial resources and rich imagination for what their lives might be.

Lev Mandel, AIF®
Associate Advisor
I learned math from my mom. She majored in the subject because it was her passion and intent to prove that women could excel in the field. Inheriting her love of numbers, I attended the University of Michigan followed by graduate school at the London School of Economics. The pull of Silicon Valley got the best of me and I landed in product management. It wasn’t the best match.
I returned to my roots teaching high school pre-calculus and built my curriculum so that when I got the popular question, “But Mr. Mandel, when are we going to use this in real life?” I could emphatically answer, “All the time!”
Now I work with families as they prepare for life transitions. I love getting to know clients as we move through a process to create a personalized plan that provides clarity, reduces anxiety and supports their unique goals.

Betty S. Epstein
Director of Hospitality, Rockridge Office
I lived on the streets of the Bay Area most of my life, sometimes abandoned, mostly neglected. That all changed in 2016 when I was saved by Muttville Senior Dog Rescue. Diagnostics showed I had an aggressive cancer. Nobody expected me to live past a few months.
P.S. If you’re uncomfortable with dogs, I’m happy to stay upstairs.
